In January of 2009 the MorningSide Board decided to apply for a grant that was being offered by Community Legal Resources (CLR). The grants were awarded through the
Community and Property Preservation (CAPP) program, which is funded by The Kresge
Foundation. CLR accepted over forty applications and awarded mini-grants to nine Detroit community-based organizations. MorningSide was one of the winning organizations. We were awarded $4950.00 to fund four of the seven projects that we submitted to CLR in our application. The funds were split up among the four projects that CLR approved. These four projects are Lawn Maintenance, Mural Painting, Residential Board-up and Trash Removal. We completed these projects at the end of last year. Photos of this project are coming soon.
